PKUCH Department of Nuclear Medicine Becomes the First Overseas Cooperation Base of ICPO

On August 27, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Peking University Cancer Hospital (PKUCH) and International Centers for Precision Oncology (ICPO) was held at Peking University Cancer Hospital. The agreement was signed by PUCH President Jigafu and Professor Richard Paul BAUM, Chairman of ICPO Board of Supervisors, and Chairman and Clinical Director of ICPO in Germany.

President Ji Jiafu awarded Professor Richard Paul BAUM a Letter of Appointment for Visiting Professor of Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) and signed the ICPO-PKUCH cooperation. The signing of this agreement marks that PKUCH has become the first (overseas) contractual cooperation base of ICPO.

Initiated by Professor Richard Paul BAUM, ICPO consists of renowned doctors, radiochemists and physicists from many countries around the world and aims to provide accurate radionuclide targeted diagnosis and treatment programs for cancer patients, as well as complete training programs and courses for doctors, physicists, chemists and nurses. PKUCH reached a preliminary intention of cooperation with ICPO in December 2018. And after more than half a year of consultation and efforts, it finally became the first ICPO (overseas) cooperation base. It is believed that with the subsequent large-scale development of PRRT and PRLT, PKUCH will establish a precise diagnostic and therapeutic center for cancer radiomolecules with disciplinary characteristics, contribute to cancer prevention and treatment in China, and provide a platform for deepening bilateral education/medical cooperation between China and Germany.
