A Medical Delegation from Hong Kong and Macao Visits PKUHSC for Exchange and Communication

On September 19, 2025, with the support of the Chinese Medical Association, a delegation composed of senior medical and health professionals from Hong Kong and Macao visited Peking University Health Science Center. The aim was to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in the medical field between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao and jointly promote the high-quality development of medical education and healthcare.

The delegation members include Leung Chi-hung, former Chairman of the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong, Chan Kam-hoi, Administrative Director of The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay, TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital, and MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Center, Li Kam-tao, President of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Luk Wai-leung, President of Hong Kong Doctors Union, Cheung Man-yung, President of the Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong, and Lau Tung-ni, Vice President of the Macau Chinese Medical Association, among twenty other guests.

During the discussion session, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the clinical medical education and post-graduation training system, the mechanism for cultivating medical research talents, and student exchange programs between PKU Medicine and Hong Kong and Macao regions. They reached many common understandings.

After the symposium, the delegation also visited PKU Third Hospital to conduct on-site investigations of its advanced experience and achievements in technology transfer. Through this in-depth visit and exchange, the delegation gained a more intuitive and systematic understanding of the high-quality achievements of PKU Medicine in terms of its development history, education and teaching, scientific research, and clinical services.
