Seminar Held for China-ASEAN Public Health Science and Technology Cooperation Center Construction

A project seminar was held online on April 7 for the China-ASEAN Public Health Science and Technology Cooperation Center Construction. Project members, from the office of international cooperation of Peking University Health Science Center, PKU School of Public Health, National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and College of ASEAN Studies of Guangxi Minzu University, had discussions and exchanges about the project execution and implementation.

The meeting was the prelude to the construction project of China-ASEAN Public Health Science and Technology Cooperation Center. The project is a response to the initiative proposed at the 24th China-ASEAN Summit. Starting with the science and technology cooperation in communicable diseases such as COVID-19 and malaria, together with the ASEAN partners, China will set up a more effective public health cooperation system, build the scientific research base, scientific and technological innovation base, and talents training base for China-ASEAN Public Health Science and Technology Cooperation, which will promote the deeper cooperation between China and ASEAN in the field of public health, form the regional hygiene security, and realize the goal proposed by President Xi Jiping of building a global community of health for all.
