PKU First Hospital Gives voice of China at the Top Conference of International Medical Education
On August 27, 2022, on behalf of the hospital's medical education research team, Dr. Li Shan, a pediatrician of PKU First Hospital (PKUFH), made an online opening speech entitled "Implementation of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in China: focusing on Pediatric Residency Training Program" at the 2022 Ottawa Conference. The contents of the speech attracted extensive attention and heated discussion from the experts attending the meeting.
Since the Ottawa Conference was founded by Professor Ian Hart and Professor Ronald Harden in 1985, it has been held every two years and has become a very important academic conference in the field of medical education. Since 2010, the Ottawa Conference has been jointly held with the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), and a clear conference focus - "competency evaluation" has been formulated, aiming at improving the health management level worldwide through evaluation. Being selected to speak at the Ottawa Conference is not only a Chinese voice on the top stage of medical education in the world, but also a major breakthrough in the research of competency-oriented post-graduation medical education at PKUFH. It is also one of the greatest achievements of international cooperation in competency-oriented medical education in the past 10 years.
