PKU Medicine Labs in Life Sciences Marked Excellent by Ministry of Education
Four laboratories at Peking University, along with other 27 labs, were marked “Excellent” by the Ministry of Education, according to recently released results from the assessment conducted last September on the performances between 2016 and 2020 of 201 key laboratories in life sciences. PKU Medicine contributed three of the four labs to the list:
- Key Laboratory of Molecular Cardiovascular Sciences
- Led by Dong Erdan
- Affiliated to School of Basic Medical Sciences
- Established in 2002, guided by the Healthy China Strategy, targeting frontier issues in metabolic cardiovascular diseases, and focusing on risk factors, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specific to the Chinese population
- Key Laboratory of Chronic Kidney Diseases
- Led by Zhao Minghui
- Affiliated to Peking University First Hospital
- Established in 2010, focusing on epidemiology, pathogenesis, pathology, and evidence-based treatment of kidney diseases
- Key Laboratory of Assisted Reproductive Technology
- Led by Qiao Jie
- Affiliated to Peking University Third Hospital
- Established in 2010, in the backdrop of decreasing fertility rate and high incidence of birth deficit in China
- Focusing on basic, clinical and translational research in ART to promote innovation in all related fields and meet the strategic needs in population health and reproductive health
