PKU Medicine Broke Ground on New Campus

  

  Peking University saw the cornerstone of its new medical campus laid in a grand ceremony in December 8. According to the design, the new campus at 38 Xitong Rd. is to cover 1,160 mu (or 773,333 square meters) in the eastern lot of Beijing Huairou National Comprehensive Science Center (also known as Huairou Science City). Over one hundred guests attended the ceremony.

  

  During the ceremony, former President Han Dide of Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC), Vice Minister Zeng Yixin of National Health Commission, Executive Vice Mayor Xia Linmao of Beijing, President Qiao Jie of PKUHSC, Party Secretary Yu Weiguo of Miyun, Prof. Zhang Qiang of PKU School of Pharmacology, and President Wang Yusheng of China Railway Construction Engineering Group addressed the audience.

  

  Peking University also received new commitment for donation, where Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation pledged to support medical education at the PKU via Peking University Education Foundation.

  

  Following the ceremony, the 4th PKU Medicine Forum (Miyun Forum) on Health Industry was held on the afternoon. Themed “Life, Health and Translation”, the forum gathered over 300 people. It witnessed the launch of PKU Medicine-Miyun Consortium of Health Industry.

  

       

       

  Launch of the new campus shows the commitment of the PKU Medicine to the national, municipal and PKU strategies for high quality development.
