On December 8-11, 2023, as our country’s chief representative, Professor Zheng Shuguo from Peking University School of Stomatology went to Ayutthaya, Thailand, to attend the 13^th Asian Chief Dental Officers Meeting (ACDOM 2023). The meeting provided a platform for Asian chief dental officers, heads of oral health field, heads of the three stomatology-related Asian World Health Organization Collaboration Centers (WHOCC, located in China—Peking University, Japan, and Thailand) and oral health policy scholars to meet and discuss oral health policies and services. Benoit Varenne, Head of Global Oral Health at WHO Headquarters, participated in the meeting as a special guest, and the Western Pacific Office also sent representatives to the meeting. The theme of this year’s conference was “Oral Health: Time for Action”.

　　At the invitation of the meeting’s organizing committee, Professor Zheng Shuguo made a keynote speech titled “From Global to Local: How China Integrated Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023-2030) to National Policies and Actions”, which was based on the oral health of Chinese population and the comprehensive prevention and control strategies of oral diseases. At the same time, as the co-director of WHOCC for Research and Training in Preventive Dentistry (CHN-26), Professor Zheng Shuguo also made a presentation of the related work of the center. He also had in-depth discussions and exchanges with representatives of various countries and shared China’s experience in terms of the formulation of oral public health policies in Asia and how to strengthen cooperation and communication between regions and countries to jointly promote the implementation of the Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023-2030). His presentation was fully recognized and praised by Benoit Varenne, Head of Global Oral Health at WHO Headquarters.

　　After the discussion of the core members of the council, it was determined that ACDOM 2027 will be hosted by PKU stomatology WHOCC in Beijing. It will be the second hosting of China (PKU Stomatology WHOCC) and it’s been ten years since we hosted the 9th ACDOM in 2017, which fully reflects the influence of China’s oral public health represented by PKU Stomatology in Asia and the world.
