Qiao Jie Attends Activities by HK Tech Sector for the 75th Birthday of People’s Republic of China

  From September 27 to 28, a series of activities held by the Hong Kong Science and technology sector to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China were held in Hong Kong. Qiao Jie, vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, executive vice president of Peking University, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended relevant activities. Present at the activities were HKSAR government officials Huang Weilun, acting financial secretary and Sun Dong, secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Wang Weiming, director of the Education, Science and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, Qiu Dagen, member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, Huang Yushan, chairman of the Preparatory Committee, and Lu Weiguo, chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Day Celebration of the Hong Kong science and technology sector, and so on.

  

  This series of activities specially set up a science and technology forum with the theme of "New-quality Productivity: Challenges and Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area". Qiao Jie was invited to give a report titled "Guidance and Inspiration of New-quality Productivity to the Development Direction of China's Medical Science and Technology". She analyzed the population health situation faced by the world and the development needs of national medical science and technology. Taking the actual achievements of top disciplines as an example, she pointed out that we should focus on the three elements of cultivating new-quality productivity and strengthen the internal driving force for the future development of disciplines. About 700 people including representatives from relevant government departments, universities, enterprises, and science and technology groups in Hong Kong attended the event.
