From September 23^rd till 25^th, the 2024 World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR) was held in Abu Dhabi, a vibrant city in the United Arab Emirates. At the invitation of his Excellency H.E. Abdullah Alhumaidan, Chairman of WCR’s organizing committee, chief physician Wang Ninghua and vice chief physician Wang Cui of Peking University First Hospital’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine participated in the international event.

　　After the opening ceremony, the team members of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of PKU Health Science Center, composed of PKU First Hospital, PKU Third Hospital, and PKU Sixth Hospital, talked with and took photos with Zhang Haidi, President of Rehabilitation International.

　　During the congress, Wang Huaning made a subforum report on “Application of Robot in Trunk Dynamic Control of Patients with Spinal Cord Injury” and Wang Cui on “Application of Botulinum Toxin Injection Combined with Deep Brain Stimulation in Children with Cerebral Palsy,” both of which attracted international colleagues’ attention and were well received.

　　The congress was the first world rehabilitation conference held in the Middle East, demonstrating the region’s determination to promote rehabilitation worldwide. The rehabilitation scholars of PKUFH also made an extraordinary international presence at the congress.
