PKU Shougang Hospital Holds Sino-Russian Pelvic Surgery Seminar

On March 6, a Sino-Russian pelvic surgery seminar was held at Peking University Shougang Hospital. The event was jointly organized by the hospital’s Gastrointestinal Surgery Center and Russia’s Oncology Hospital No. 62. The four visiting Russian experts in colorectal cancer, bone tumor, and urology would stay for a one-week surgical observation and exchange.

During the seminar, Prof. Gu Jin of Shougang Hospital and Prof. Pavel Viktorovich Melnikov of Oncology Hospital No. 62 shared their experiences in total pelvic exenteration. Experts from both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge technologies, multidisciplinary collaboration, and clinical applications in pelvic surgery. Shougang’s multidisciplinary teams from the Gastrointestinal Surgery Center, Reconstructive Surgery, Bone Oncology, and Urology made impressive presentations as well.

The success of this seminar not only built a direct bridge for Sino-Russian pelvic surgery but also provided a valuable learning opportunity for medical staff on both sides to further their skills in pelvic surgery and promote disciplinary development.
