PKU Third Hospital Hosts Seminar of Medical Ultrasound
Peking University Third Hospital hosted the 1st Seminar for Development and Innovation in Medical Ultrasound in April 11-13. The seminar was co-sponsored by the ultrasound imaging branches of China Association of Medical Equipment, China Medical Women’s Association and China Medical Biotech Association. The event gathered over 700 professionals from the field.
The opening ceremony saw the launchings of a multisite study on monitoring the development of girls’ reproductive system and bone density, the technical specifications for scoring of hysterosalpingography and ultrasound scanning of shoulder joints, a joint training program among the Gomel State Medical University, the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University and the PKU Third Hospital, and two major national multisite research projects using super-resolution microscopy technology.
Keynote speakers of the seminar included Prof. Vito Cantisani from Italy, Prof. Liu Jibin from the US, Prof. Moustapha Hassan from Sweden, Prof. Jacques Souquet from France and Prof. Jeong Min Lee from South Korea. They shared insight on the latest development in the clinical application of ultrasound contrast imaging in the diagnosis of renal diseases, clinical transformation of therapeutic ultrasound, and nanoparticle technology in tumor diagnosis and treatment.
The seminar is the first of its kind hosted by the PKU Third Hospital. Its success attests to the hospital’s strength in the field and marks a new starting point for further development.
