On February 27, 2026, Prof. Necdet Ünüvar, President of Ankara University of Turkey, led a delegation to visit Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC). Prof. Wang Jiadong, Vice President of PKUHSC, met with the delegation. Liu Yan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, Deng Rui, Deputy Director of the Office of Scientific Research, Xu Yan, Deputy Director of the Department of Sports Medicine of Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH), and Li Xiaojia, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation, accompanied the meeting.

In his welcome address, Wang Jiadong stated that this visit was the first by a delegation from Ankara University to PKUHSC. He pointed out that despite the two universities’ different academic traditions and cultural backgrounds, they are closely bound by their shared goals of advancing scientific progress, improving human health, and nurturing the next generation of medical leaders.

In his address, Necdet Ünüvar noted that this visit marked an important beginning for the establishment of ties between the two universities. He expressed hope that the two sides would further deepen cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchanges and joint research. President Ünüvar emphasized that Turkey and China enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in education and scientific research, and he hoped that this visit would lay a solid foundation for practical cooperation between the two sides.

During the follow-up talks, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on student training, joint research, academic exchanges and other areas. Both sides agreed that this visit not only enhanced mutual understanding, but also laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation in the medical and health field in the future.
