Medical Exchange Program Between PKUHSC and Faculty of Medicine of University of Indonesia Concludes

“Youth Medical Exchange: China-Indonesia Partnership” medical exchange program between Peking University Health Science Center and Faculty of Medicine of University of Indonesia concluded successfully on January 7, 2026. Twenty-four clinical medicine undergraduates from the University of Indonesia and fourteen students from PKUHSC gathered for academic sharing. They built a bridge of medical friendship that transcends national borders through campus and hospital visits and in-depth discussions.

The two-day program offered a rich and diverse schedule that proved highly rewarding for participants. The academic lecture featured four compelling presentations covering four major themes: an introduction to China’s healthcare system, genetics and human diseases, traditional Chinese medicine culture, and China’s role in global health governance. Additionally, Chinese and Indonesian participants jointly visited PKU campus and its affiliated hospitals, immersing themselves in the humanistic heritage of this century-old institution. Following the learning exchange, participants engaged in a group discussion themed “Medical Education Models: University-Based vs. Hospital-Based.” The session was marked by continuous cross-cultural intellectual exchanges and collisions of ideas, with vivid perspectives and clear logic eliciting frequent applause. The cross-cultural understanding fostered among these young medical professionals will inject momentum into building a better global health community.
