On June 23, 2026, Professor Wisnu Barlianto, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University, Indonesia, led a delegation to visit Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC). The delegation was received at a meeting presided over by Liu Yan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation. Present at the meeting as accompanying staff included Wang Jiancheng, Director of the Department of Scientific Research, Wang Haijun, Vice Dean of the School of Public Health, Xu Ming, Chair of the Department of Global Health of School of Public Health, and Li Xiaojia, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation.

Wang Jiadong, Vice President of PKUHSC, stated that this marks the first visit by the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University to PKUHSC. The forum carries special significance and represents an important milestone in advancing institutional ties between the two institutions. He expressed the hope that this visit will lay a solid foundation for establishing a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership, and looked forward to substantial cooperation between the two universities in research collaboration, public health, student exchange and other fields.

Professor Wisnu Barlianto, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University, remarked in his address that this visit constitutes the first official engagement between the two institutions in the field of medicine, bearing groundbreaking significance. He commended PKUHSC for its remarkable achievements in medical education, scientific research and clinical services, and expressed anticipation for establishing long-term and stable cooperative ties in faculty exchange, student mobility, joint research and other relevant areas.

During the exchange, both sides, taking a long-term perspective on development, held thorough and in-depth discussions on research innovation and the joint training of public health professionals, reaching a series of preliminary consensus on cooperation.
