TANG and QIAO Research Teams Set up High-precision Transcriptome Map for Human Spermatogenesis

On August 30, 2018, TANG Fuchou Research Team from PKU Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Genomics and School of Life Sciences BIOPIC Center, QIAO Jie Research Team from PKU Third Hospital, and ZHAO Xiaoyang Research Team from Southern Medical University, jointly published an online research paper titled "Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Analysis Reveals Sequential Cell Fate Transition during Human Spermatogenesis” in the internationally-renowned joural Cell Stem Cell . This study is the first to have elucidated the gene expression regulatory network and cell fate transition pathway in human spermatogenesis from a single-cell system, to have mapped high-precision single-cell transcriptomes of human spermatogenesis, to have analyzed all types of germ cells and their key molecular markers in adult males, and to have preliminarily explored the application of single-cell transcriptome technology in the study and diagnosis of human nonobstructive azoospermia.
