ASPIRE 2026 Held in Beijing

The 15th Congress of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE 2026) took place at the China National Convention Center in Beijing in May 7-10. Under the theme of “Journeying the Silk Road of Reproductive Care”, the congress gathered top global experts and scholars in reproductive medicine to discuss cutting-edge technologies and development trends, as well as to jointly address global population challenges.

The conference covered a wide range of topics including reproductive endocrinology, andrology, genetics, immunology, psychology and medical ethics. It featured diverse academic events such as opening ceremony, keynote speeches, thematic seminars, pre-congress courses, corporate forums, free discussions and poster exhibitions, fully showcasing the latest research achievements and clinical practices in reproductive medicine worldwide.

Academician Qiao Jie, President of Peking University Health Science Center, served as the honorary chair of the congress. Professor Li Rong, Vice President of Peking University Third Hospital, Director of the hospital’s Reproductive Medicine Center and the only Chinese member on the ASPIRE Board, acted as the congress chair and oversaw the entire preparation and organization of the event. Such leadership roles fully demonstrated China’s prominent status and influence in the international reproductive medicine community.

As the host institution, the Reproductive Medicine Center of Peking University Third Hospital received expert delegations in 11 batches during ASPIRE 2026. The visitors came from 32 universities, research institutes, medical institutions and enterprises across 10 countries, marking the center’s largest-ever international exchange event. The delegations conducted on-site visits to the center’s outpatient departments, surgical wards, molecular genetics laboratory, and the National Key Laboratory for Female Fertility Promotion. In-depth academic exchanges were conducted on frontier topics including preimplantation genetic testing, refined management of assisted reproductive surgeries, and multidisciplinary models for infertility treatment.
