During the ceremony, the three parties discussed matters related to deepening cooperation between PKUHSC and Bao’an District, Shenzhen. Zhu Yuanfang, Party Secretary of the Bao’an District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, pointed out that as the only tertiary grade A maternal and child health hospital in Bao’an District, the hospital has collaborated with Professor Zhao Yangyu’s team from PKU Third Hospital through the “Three Excellence Projects” initiative and has already achieved fruitful results. He stated that this signing ceremony marked the designation of Bao’an District Maternal and Child Health Hospital as a partner hospital of PKU Medicine, which is of great significance for maternal and child health in Bao’an as well as for the district’s women and children.

Qiao Jie, PKUHSC President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, highly commended the foundation laid by the two parties’ previous collaboration. She noted that this partnership is a key public welfare project under the framework of the 2023 agreement between the Shenzhen Municipal Government and Peking University to comprehensively deepen cooperation. PKUHSC will leverage its comprehensive strengths in academic disciplines, talent, scientific research, and clinical practice. It will focus on joint discipline development, collaborative talent cultivation, and the joint advancement of medical care and research. Through mentorship and guidance, it will strengthen the local talent pool and strive to make the hospital a model of coordinated development between the university and the local community, thereby better safeguarding the health of women and children in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
