PUHSC Researchers find CTL-mediated immunotherapy suppresses SHIV rebound in ART-free macaques

  Nature Communications published on May 21 a study that suggests SHIV rebound could be suppressed by CTL-mediated immunotherapy in ART-free macaques. The study (read full text at https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-09725-6) was conducted by research groups led by Prof. Shao Yiming at Peking University Health Science Center and Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in collaboration with Dr. Cassian Yee of UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. The finding is believed to offer a new strategy for HIV functional cure.
