PKUTH Department of Sports Medicine Participates in the 17th ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting
The 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Hip Preservation (ISHA) was held in Fukuoka, Japan from October 2 to 4, 2025. The conference facilitated in-depth discussions on key topics including hip preservation surgery and the prevention and treatment of sports injuries, attracting over a thousand professionals form 49 countries worldwide.

Professor Xu Yan, Deputy Director of the Department of Sports Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH), led a team of five members to attend the conference, delivering eight presentations and showcasing one poster. Professor Xu delivered a plenary lecture titled “The PKU Third Hospital Protocol for Postoperative Rehabilitation of Hip Rotator Cuff Surgery,” sharing the team’s research findings on the efficacy and clinical outcomes of cartilage nails in treating acetabular cartilage delamination. Dr. Gao Guanying presented clinical research on MRI diagnosis of acetabular cartilage delamination and the clinical efficacy of arthroscopic capsular suture-lifting technique in the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement in patients with borderline developmental dysplasia of the hip. Other team members also delivered academic presentations during the conference.
The ISHA Annual Meeting, as a premier global academic gathering in the field of hip joint research, serves as a vital platform for experts and researchers worldwide to share experiences and engage in scholarly exchange. At the is conference, the hip joint specialty team from the Department of Sports Medicine at PKUTH showcased a series of innovative achievements, offering fresh perspectives and solutions for advancing the field.
