Delegation from Ministry of Health and Welfare of Mauritius and Victoria Hospital Visits PKUTH
On the morning of August 18, 2025, the phasenew summary and exchange symposium of “Peking University Third Hospital—Mauritius Victoria Hospital Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Training Project” was held in Peking University Third Hospital (PKUTH). The delegation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Mauritius and Victoria Hospital, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, leaders from the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Health Commission, leaders from Peking University Health Science Center, leaders from PKUTH and experts from relevant departments attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Sun Gongyi, the initial promoter and witness of the project and the former ambassador of China to Mauritius, Zhu Liying, the former ambassador of China to Mauritius, and Shao Meng, deputy director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Health Commission, delivered speeches respectively. Two visiting doctors from Mauritius shared their reflections of learning. Doctors from PKUTH shared their teaching experience.
On August 15th, the China-Hospeq 2025, hosted by the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission, was held at the National Convention Center. Fu Wei, the president of PKUTH, and the Mauritian delegation were invited to attend the founding conference of the China-Africa Hospital Alliance and the China-Africa Hospital Development Conference.
The conference brought together health ministers, diplomatic envoys in China, representatives of international organizations and elites from industry, academia and research from over 40 countries around the world to jointly draw a new blueprint for health and wellness cooperation. At the opening ceremony, the China-Africa Hospital Alliance was officially established. At the meeting, Fu Wei delivered a keynote speech titled “Teaching People How to Fish Enhances Diagnosis and Treatment Capabilities, and Specialized Construction Facilitates High-Quality Development of Health and Wellness in China and Africa”. Cui Ligang, director of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine at PKUTH, also attended the conference and took the lead in establishing the “China-Africa Hospital Alliance Ultrasound Diagnosis and Treatment Joint Working Group”.
