International Forum on Interdisciplinary Nursing Research & Residential Environment for Healthy Aging Held

On June 12–13, 2026, the 2026 International Forum on Interdisciplinary Nursing Research and Residential Environment for Healthy Aging, co-sponsored by Peking University School of Nursing and China Architecture Design & Research Group, and organized by the journal Interdisciplinary Nursing Research (INR), was held at Zhongguanyuan Global Village of Peking University. More than 300 delegates from seven countries attended the forum.

From a “broad health” perspective, the forum centered on key areas including residential environment for healthy aging, AI-enabled evidence translation and application, technological innovation in smart elderly care, and integrated innovation of educational technologies. Distinguished keynote speakers were invited to deliver presentations, including Academician Zhan Qimin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Member Li Cundong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Researcher Yang Daiqing, Deputy Director of the Evaluation Center at the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, Professor Zhang Luxia, Vice Director of the National Institute of Health Data Science at Peking University, Director Lu Shousi of the Research Department at China Rehabilitation Research Center, Professor Han Ting from the School of Design at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Hannele Niemi, former Vice-Rector of the University of Helsinki and former Finnish Chair of the Sino-Finnish Joint Institute for Learning and Innovation.

Parallel sessions of the forum featured the launch ceremony for “the Special Issue on Residential Environment for Healthy Aging of Interdisciplinary Nursing Research (INR)”, the inauguration of the INR Youth Editorial Board, and the presentation of the 2nd “INR Global Outstanding Young Scholar Award”.
