The 2026 World Digital Education Conference, themed “AI + Education: Transformation, Development and Governance”, was grandly held recently in Hangzhou. The event gathered experts, scholars and industry leaders from the global education sector to discuss innovative development and international cooperation in digital education. Concurrent with the conference, the Global Digital Education Achievements Exhibition was staged, with 118 outstanding practical cases selected to fully demonstrate the innovative applications of intelligent technologies in teaching models, learning methods, school governance, scientific and technological innovation and other fields.

Peking University (PKU) Houdao MedSeek Large Language Model (LLM) for Medical Education is China’s first large language model dedicated to the vertical field of medical education. As the sole large model in the medical education sector, it was showcased in the “Application Scenarios” exhibition area of the Global Digital Education Achievements Exhibition. Being one of the 35 themed cases in this section, it fully presents China’s technological breakthroughs and achievements in ecosystem development in intelligent digital medical education, and shares China’s smart medical education solutions with the world.

The PKU team presented under the theme “Empowering the Construction of a Smart Medical Education Ecosystem with the Houdao MedSeek LLM for Medical Education”. Through multi-modal dialogues, multilingual interaction demonstrations, on-site experience of intelligent tools and other forms, it systematically displayed the technical strengths, derivative applications and full-range service capabilities of the LLM.

At the exhibition, a host of intelligent tools derived from the Houdao LLM were unveiled, including the Medical AI Capability Center, “Wendao” Scientific Navigation, Medical Education Teaching Prompt Library and Medical Vector Graph Intelligent Agent. Also showcased were three major ecological platforms: the National Intelligent Knowledge Base Resource Platform for Medical Education, the National Medical Education Agent Square and the National Smart Medical Curriculum Platform. They fully demonstrated the integrated ecosystem featuring “LLM + knowledge base + resource platform + agent cluster + curriculum cluster + future learning center”, drawing crowds of domestic and foreign experts and scholars to stop for in-depth exchanges.

Thanks to its technological innovation and outstanding application outcomes, the Houdao MedSeek LLM has been selected into the third batch of typical application cases for “AI + Higher Education” issued by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. It has been launched on the National Smart Education Platform for Higher Education and the National Smart Education Platform for Postgraduate Education. Moreover, it has been presented on multiple international occasions such as the World Conference on MOOCs and Online Education and the Dubai World Health Exhibition, emerging as a vital name card for China’s intelligent digital medical education going global.

Going forward, Peking University will further advance the digital and intelligent transformation of medical education. With the Houdao MedSeek LLM as the core driving force, it welcomes more medical universities and institutions to join hands for joint development. We will deepen technological innovation and global collaboration, boost international exchanges and cooperation, build a world-leading intelligent digital medical education system, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of global medical education.
