Experts from PKU People’s Hospital Share Experience with Brazil in Fighting COVID-19 Pandemic
On May 20, the “COVID-19 Frontline”, a livestream by CGTN of China Media Group, featured veteran experts from Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) medical team sent to aid Hubei Province. The experts were invited to share experience in epidemic control and disease treatment with Brazilian peers to help Brazilian people fight against the pandemic.
Cao Zhaolong, chief physician from Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Professor Gao Yan, director of Department of Infectious Diseases, and Professor Zhu Fengxue, deputy director of Trauma Rescue and Treatment Center, who served on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 in Wuhan, via a video conference, exchanged with Brazilian medical professionals (Valeria Salles, vice president of Hospital Samaritano, Ricardo Lima, chief of the Intensive Care Unit and head of the COVID-19 at Hospital Samaritano, and Professor Luiz Malbouisson from Medical School of University of São Paulo) and shared their treatment experience. Li Yang, Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, joined the video conference and remarked that the global situation of the pandemic was still so severe that all the countries should stand hand in hand to fight against it. Human beings will eventually defeat the novel coronavirus through common endeavor.
