The teaching team of human anatomy at Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) was invited for the first time to share its experience at the 22^nd Congress of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) held August 13-16 in Melbourne, Australia. With the theme “Anatomy for Everyone”, this congress focused on cutting-edge directions such as anatomy education reform and AI-enabled teaching. Prof. Chen Chunhua, Deputy Director of the Department of Human Anatomy and Histology & Embryology at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, and Prof. Fang Xuan presented PKUHSC’s innovative exploration in AI-enabled anatomy teaching to international peers through oral presentation and poster display respectively.

In her speech, Prof. Chen presented the digital-intelligent anatomy teaching system centered on knowledge graphs and AI agents, a system developed by her team in alignment with China’s “AI + Education” strategy. She said this model significantly improved students’ spatial comprehension and confidence.

In the poster session, Prof. Fang visually demonstrated how knowledge graphs, AI assistants and clinical case banks could be integrated into neuroanatomy teaching. Her data showed that students’ practice participation was positively correlated with their final grades, and that all teaching modules received positive feedback.

 The IFAA is the oldest and most influential academic event in the field of anatomy. At this grand gathering, the reports and poster presentations by the PKUHSC team drew extensive attention from participating scholars, marking that its innovative practice in anatomy education has officially stepped onto the international academic stage. It is another important milestone in the construction of the “Future Learning Center” at the School of Basic Medical Sciences.
