Peking University Third Hospital Ophthalmologists Spoke at Russian Glaucoma Congress
At the 23rd Annual Congress of the Russian Glaucoma Society held December 4-6, two ophthalmologists, Professor Wu Lingling and Chief Physician Fan Xiang, from Peking University Third Hospital were invited as Chinese representatives to present their studies.

Dr. Fan’s report explored whether myopia is a risk factor for the progression of primary open-angle glaucoma, while Prof. Wu presented on characteristics of visual field progression in primary open-angle glaucoma after myopia laser correction surgery. Their reports sparked enthusiastic discussions among experts from Russia and neighboring countries and regions.
As a regionally influential academic event, the congress provided a platform for in-depth discussions between Chinese and Russian glaucoma experts on establishing joint laboratories, conducting multi-center cohort studies, and promoting genetic diagnosis and treatment. These discussions laid a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation in the future.
