On June 15, 2026, a delegation led by Professor Keith Brennan, Vice Dean for Internationalization at the Faculty of Biology, Medicine, and Health at the University of Manchester, visited Peking University Health Science Center. Wang Jiadong, Vice President of the Health Science Center, met with the visiting delegation. Zhang Yan, Director of the International Center at the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee, along with other relevant officials, attended the meeting at the invitation of the organizers.

In his welcoming remarks, Wang Jiadong expressed his hope that both parties would engage in thorough communication, build consensus, and work together to explore diversified avenues for cooperation through this exchange. By leveraging each other’s disciplinary strengths, he said, they could advance their collaboration toward deeper and higher-quality development.

Keith Brennan highly commended the strong cooperative relationship that has been established between the two institutions over the years. He also expressed sincere intentions to deepen bilateral exchanges and expand the scope for cooperation.

Zhang Yan stated that the Municipal Science and Technology Commission encourages practical cooperation between the two institutions and is willing to assist them in developing pragmatic, efficient, and distinctive international cooperation projects, ensuring that these collaborative efforts take root and bear fruit.

Subsequently, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as joint talent cultivation, cutting-edge scientific research collaboration, and government-university collaborative innovation.
