PKU Sanya Hospital of Stomatology Inaugurated and First Hainan International Dental Conference Held

On January 10, 2026, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology Sanya Division—the only national stomatology regional medical center project in China—was officially inaugurated. Concurrently, the First Hainan International Stomatology Conference was successfully held.
Nearly 30 top international experts in the field of stomatology from over 10 countries and regions across four continents (Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa) were present to witness this historic moment of the inauguration of the Sanya Hospital. Among them were Professor Kin Lik-kin, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Ronald Jung, President of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Wenyuan Shi, CEO of the ADA Forsyth Institute, Young-Seok Park, Dean of the College of Dentistry at Seoul National University, and Ren Yanfang, Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnosis at the University of Rochester.

On the same day, Sanya Stomatology Center and Hainan Medical University held a signing ceremony for a cooperative framework agreement. In the future, the two institutions will empower the training of grassroots dental practitioners in Hainan through technical mentoring and joint training programs, jointly creating a new paradigm for the cultivation of innovative high-level talents in stomatology.

Subsequently, the First Hainan International Stomatology Conference convened. This gathering brought together over 1000 attendees, including academicians, experts, scholars, and industry peers from home and abroad, to explore cutting-edge advancements and discuss development pathways.

The establishment of PKU Hospital of Stomatology Sanya Division and its construction as a national regional medical center represent a key measure to substantially and sustainably improve the oral health of Hainan residents and facilitate the downward allocation of high-quality medical resources. Aiming to become “provincially leading, nationally first-class, and internationally renowned,” the hospital will strengthen the oral health defense for Hainan Free Trade Port development and write a new chapter in healthcare development of the Free Trade Port for the Healthy China initiative.
