On January 10, 2026, the inaugural meeting of the Peking University Alumni Association Branch of the School of Basic Medical Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “PKU Medical Sciences Alumni Association”) was held at Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC). As the first school-level alumni association within PKUHSC, its establishment creates a new platform to unite global alumni and advance the development of China’s medical sector.

In her address, Qiao Jie, President of PKUHSC and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, emphasized that alumni represent the university’s most valuable asset and an extension of its strength. She expressed hope that the branch would become a “home” for fostering camaraderie, a “platform” for advancing careers, and a “community” for driving the school’s development. she called upon alumni worldwide to remain true to their founding aspirations, strengthen connections, give back to their alma mater, and support the school in scaling new heights in medical research and achieving new glory.

The establishment of PKU Medical Sciences Alumni Association embodies the expectations of all alumni while shouldering the mission of assisting the school’s development and serving national strategic priorities. At this new historical juncture, PKU School of Basic Medical Sciences and its global alumni network will work together, moving forward hand in hand. They will jointly explore the mysteries of life, safeguard people’s health, promote medical progress, and compose together a more brilliant chapter of our era.
