On November 21, the results of the 2025 academicians’ election of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) were officially announced. A total of six renowned scholars from Peking University were elected, including two from PKU Health Science Center.

Deng Hongkui, PKU Boya Chair Professor, Director of the PKU Stem Cell Research Center, and Dean of the Department of Cell Biology at PKU School of Basic Medical Sciences, has been elected as an academician of CAS.

Ji Jiafu, Professor and Chief Physician at PKU Cancer Hospital (PKUCH), Director of the General Surgery Department at PKUCH, Chief Expert of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Center, and Director of the PKU Cancer Research Center, has been elected as an academician of CAE.
